The Origin and Development of Sculpture The emergence and development of sculpture is closely related to human production activities, and at the same time, it is directly influenced by social ideology such as religion and philosophy in various times. When human beings were still in the Paleolithic Age, primitive stone carvings and bone carvings appeared. Sculpture is a relatively permanent art. The traditional concept holds that sculpture is a static, visible and touchable three-dimensional object, which reflects reality by resorting to visual spatial image. Therefore, it is considered as the most typical plastic art, static art and space art. With the development of science and technology and the change of people's concept, anti-traditional four-dimensional sculpture, five-dimensional sculpture, acoustooptic sculpture, dynamic sculpture and soft sculpture have appeared in modern art. This is because Einstein's theory of relativity broke through the world outlook established by Newton's theory, changed people's space-time outlook, enabled the sculpture art to understand and express the world from a higher level, broke through the three-dimensional, visual and static form, and explored the multi-dimensional space-time state. |
